Republicans candidates Tom Emmer and Chris Barden are taking their low-taxes message across the state today.The Republican Party called it the Freedom and Prosperity tax rallies.The tour included a stop in Mankato.Local Republicans, including first congressional candidate Randy Demmer, joined the Attorney General and Governor candidates, who all addressed the crowd of supporters.Emmer made mention to tonight's Democrat gubernatorial debate, comparing it to Vikings training camp, which earned him a laugh from the crowd.Tom Emmer, Republican Gubenatorial Candidate, says, "We've got two different training camps going on, it's very interesting when you think about, The Vikings, they've got a great playbook.The people coming in tonight to debate, I'm not sure what, who can raise taxes more and faster is the debate.Their playbook has never changed; It is the same playbook that they have been offering to this state for decades. There is only one play in their playbook and guess what, it is to raise taxes, and grow government. The people you see standing up here today, are offering a new vision, a new direction for the state of Minnesota."The tax tour continued on to Detroit Lakes, Duluth, and will finish tonight with a party in a St. Paul bar.
