Both Hilltop flowers and Hyvee are offering deals depending on the day.Delivery from Hilltop through Thursday of this week will only be five dollars.Hyvee will offering five dollar delivery this Friday.Or you can go the free route... and pick them up yourself.If you want to express your feelings in writing for that special someone ...How about making your own card or note... instead of spending 2.99 To 3.99 on a card.It may only be a couple dollars saved... but.. a couple bucks saved is a couple bucks earned.And ... your personalized words mean more than a card writers!Still dying to spend that money saved?... you could use that money saved to calm your honey's sweet tooth.Usually what I give out... it's the easiest to get."But, don't go for the big heart box of chocolates... which will be about 10-15 bucks.Instead grab them a bar or bag of their favorite candy for only 2 to 3 dollars.A valentine's date day may also require some entertainment...Catching a flick is a popular choice.Going to the movie theater can add up quickly though.The average cost per person in Mankato is 7.50 to 8 bucks for an evening show...Instead... get to the big screen early...A matinee can save you $3.50 on two tickets.Now... don't forget to add in pop and popcorn costs if you want a snack during the movie.Those prices break down like this:A medium pop about 5 bucksMedium popcorn nearly 7.Or you can go another route... rent a movie.Grabbing a movie out of a red box is only one dollar..If you want more choices, a new release at Blockbuster is $3.99.Or an old favorite is between 99 cents and $1.99.Still want pop and popcorn?A bag of popcorn at Blockbuster is 89 cents... a tub is just over a buck more, while a two-liter of pop runs $1.99. that totals just $6.87.Another way you can save... skip the snacks all together and eat before hand.And then there's the meal...If you have someone to share it with you might as well.Dinner and a glass of wine at upscale restaurant can cost around a pretty penny.Instead: maybe go with a more moderately priced restaurant,Other options: look for coupons in the paper, call around and ask which places will be offering meal deals on Valentine's day, or give your date a rain check... and take them out to eat on a different day.To totally avoid the restaurant rush.. and cut down on costs.. cook yourself.Price check your favorite foods... grocery stores may offer some deals on Valentine's meals.That's just a few simple ways to shower your significant other with love... without breaking the bank.I should mention... many places, restaurants, movie theaters, flower shops ect.... are offering deals... you just have to check into them.Of course there are always free options like cleaning the house for your love, cooking dinner, backrubs.. you get the idea.You just have to get creative.
