BREAKING NEWS:

Police continue to search for a possible drowning victim in Hiniker Pond in Mankato.

A woman was pulled from the pond just before 8:30 Monday evening.

We spoke with the man, Jamie Dittrich, who heard the woman’s cries for help. Dittrich tells us he had just returned home from work when he and a neighbor heard someone yelling ‘help me’.

Dittrich says he called 911, someone handed him a life jacket and he went in after the woman.

Dittrich says he was able to get her to the shore, where a police officer helped him pull her from the water. He also tells us the woman was unresponsive when they got her to shore.
